  1. Woodvale Elementary is an A-rated school in Lafayette by the Louisiana Department of Education
  2. We are a public school, which means tuition is free
  3. Woodvale parents and grandparents are highly involved on campus 
  4. Teachers are the best of the best, many with decades of experience
  5. Two Woodvale teachers were among 16 Lafayette Education Foundation finalists parish-wide this year
  6. Classrooms are spacious, creatively decorated and academically stimulating
  7. As a Leader in Me School, Woodvale teaches the 7 habits of highly effective people
  8. Kindergartners and first graders go to the computer lab for 30 minutes daily
  9. Students go to the science lab one day per week for 30 minutes
  10. Teachers host science camp for a week in the summer
  11. Students go to PE every day plus have recess for a total of 50 minutes
  12. Children are enjoying brand-new playground equipment on the PE field 
  13. Classrooms employ GoNoodle technology to get children up and active
  14. Students visit the library weekly—our library has 30,000 books
  15. Law enforcement personnel and crossing guards are on campus daily 
  16. We have an active Parent-Teacher Committee (PTC) open to all
  17. Our PTC Spring Fun Run promotes exercise while raising around $20,000 for school programs
  18. Children get popcorn one Friday a month as a fundraiser for the PTC

Woodvale is the first of nine schools getting a facelift around Lafayette Parish. Work began in April to add a new building onto Woodvale’s campus to house 20 new classrooms, alleviating the need for portable buildings on the Doucet side of campus. PTC Officer Nominations are going on now!  Would you like to be an officer or do you know someone who would be a great officer?  Find out more about open officer positions and nominate someone at the link below. KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

This Friday, March 15th, 2019 LPSS will hold a registration for all Lafayette Parish Kindergarten classes for the 2019-20 school year. The event will be held at each elementary school from 8:30am to 2:30pm. Click here for more information.
