On Wednesday, August 28th at 6pm, Woodvale Elementary will host representatives from Pack 158 (Asbury) and Pack 156 (St. Mary’s) for a Cub Scout Recruitment and Information Session. Both packs serve the Woodvale community and are part of the Kuna Nisha District of the Evangeline Area Council. Representatives will be on hand to discuss all scouting has to offer the young men and women of Woodvale. Parents can gather information and register their child for either pack at the meeting.
Representatives with the Girl Scouts of America will also be on hand to provide information on Girl Scout activities available to the young ladies of Woodvale.
Make plans to attend and find out about the wonderful opportunities available through Cub Scouts, BSA and GSA.

Our first Open House of the 2018-19 school year will be held this Wednesday (for 3rd & 4th graders) and Thursday (for Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd graders) from 6:00pm until 7:30pm in the Woodvale Cafeteria. Representatives with your PTC will be on hand beginning at 5:30pm collecting funds for our annual Membership Drive as well as our monthly Popcorn Friday Fundraiser. So please remember to bring your cash and checkbooks to help support our cause – the wonderful kids of Woodvale Elementary School! The meeting begins promptly at 6pm so be sure to arrive early if you wish to complete several transactions.

Open House is a great time to get information about the school year ahead. Open house also serves as our first official PTC meeting of the new year. Our school administrators and PTC board will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. This is a perfect opportunity to check out your child’s classroom, visit with their teacher, and see what all has happened since classes began. We hope to see you there!

Testing for incoming Kindergarten students will take place on August 8th and 9th with August 10th serving as a makeup date. Parents should bring their Kindergarten student to school for their scheduled 1 hour testing block. Also, parents should bring supplies and classroom fees at this time. The first day of school for Kindergarten girls will be August 13th and for Kindergarten boys, August 14th. All Kindergarten students will report on August 15th.
